Whole Wheat Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Beef Shanks 2 tsp. Salt
  • 3 Beef Soup Bones
  • 12 cups Water
  • 2 cups Whole wheat grain
  • 2 Dried bay leaves
  • 2 tsp. Salt

Preperation

In a pot, combine the beef shanks, bones, and water. Bring to boil and skim off the foam. Reduce heat. Add the whole wheat grain and bay leaves. Simmer (covered) for 2 hours until the meat and whole wheat are tender. During the last five minutes of cooking add the salt. Remove the bones before serving.
